Growing up in the Virginia suburbs, my family escaped the summer heat by retreating to the cool mountain air of Shenandoah National Park. We searched for black bears along Skyline Drive, picnicked under the trees at Elk Wallow, and collected leaves along the trails. My dad documented all of our adventures on film, and I do the same today with a digital camera as I revisit and rediscover these places close to home. My fine art landscape photography of Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Shenandoah is inspired by these early experiences in nature. I hope it evokes a sense of calm and appreciation for our natural and nearby world.

In 2018, I began exhibiting my landscape photography in local galleries, and in 2024, I was accepted into Multiple Exposures Gallery, a 15-member fine art gallery at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. My photographs have been juried and selected for exhibitions at the Griffin Museum of Photography, Maryland Federation of Art, Hill Center, PhotoPlace Gallery, and The Art League. My images have appeared in online publications by the National Park Service, the Trust for the National Mall, Nikon, and Outdoor Photographer magazine, and in print publications by American Forests and Tudor Place. In recent years, I’ve collaborated with other photographers on zines, Up the Creek and Captured: Plants and Place, as well as a book, Magic in the Wilderness.

For the past 12 years, I’ve documented milestones and occasions for couples and families in the Washington, D.C. area. View my portrait work here.
